The most incredible slide for home...EVER!

Baseball, for the most part, is boring. Tedious long innings, with nothing happening. Except for those incredible moments where you can't believe what you see. Such is this moment.

Here's Brian Kownacki, a Fordham baseball player. Their team was losing 9 to 1 to Iona College. In the 8th inning, the Fordham team initiated a rally that put them withing distance of tying Iona.

Then this happen...

He was called safe! No rules were broken. Fordham went to win the game 12 to 9.

Man smashes 27 TV's with a baseball bat at Walmart!

Holy Babe Ruth, Batman!
Looks like this guy in Georgia, USA had some issues with Walmart or flat screen tv's or what was on tv playing at that time...or all of the above!



Remember kids, never aproach a crazy man with a baseball bat, he maybe cracking something else, apart from the tv's!

The people did the right thing and called police, which aprehended the guy and charged him with vandalism.

Yankees win #27!!!!!!

The New York Yankees has done it again. After a 9 year drought, they have clinched the World Series title winning 7 to 3 against last year's champs, the Philadelphia Phillies.
This is their 27 MLB Championship.

Hideki (Godzilla) Matsui was named the series MVP.

YEAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Another season of local baseball starts today!

For those following this blog, you might not understand this, but one of my passions is baseball. My devotion to the NY Yankees is well known to my friends and foes alike.

My other devotion is to the Santurce Crabbers baseball team.

Ever since I was a little boy, I have been a Crabbers fan. I have seen their good and bad times.

But ever since 2004, when the Crabbers became the Manati Athenians, I swore off local pro baseball. A local season without the Crabbers

Until now!

They're back!

And I'll be there! Their initial game is today against the champions, The Carolina Giants.

Hope they win. If not, it doesn't matter! They are back, that's what's important!

Took the series in 5 games.

Of course, game 5, took two days to play!

I guess it had to happen sooner or later. Yankee Stadium in the Bronx is closing it's doors after 85 years of winning tradition. An excerpt...

NEW YORK (AP) — Derek Jeter climbed the mound, surrounded by his teammates, and began the final farewell.

Microphone in hand, the New York captain addressed the 54,610 fans who came to say so long to Yankee Stadium, his words booming around the old ballpark where the voices of Lou Gehrig, Babe Ruth, Joe DiMaggio and Mickey Mantle had echoed years before.

"So take the memories from this stadium, add it to the new memories that come with the new Yankee Stadium and continue to pass them on from generation to generation," he said.

The winning tradition that began with a 4-1 victory over the Boston Red Sox on April 18, 1923, ended with a 7-3 triumph over the Baltimore Orioles on Sunday night. It was a bittersweet evening in which the Yankees staved off postseason elimination rather than add another title to their vast collection...

My memories of the Stadium...well going to games on 1977, 78, 1992 and 2002. Reggie Jackson batting those three homers on the sixth game of the world series in '77 pop to mind.
Endless fun and exhilaration, tears and heartbreak, hope and renewal. That was the house that Ruth built. Now on to the house that Jeter built!
