Confirmed what we already knew- Ricky Martin comes out as a Gay man!

Why this doesn't surprise me!

NEW YORK – Ricky Martin is no longer denying the rumors: He's gay.

In a statement posted via Twitter in both Spanish and English, and later confirmed with his representative, Martin said: "I am proud to say that I am a fortunate homosexual man. I am very blessed to be who I am."

For many, Monday's announcement will come as no surprise; the "Livin' La Vida Loca" singer's sexuality has been speculated about for years. But the Puerto Rican star, who got his start as a child in the teen group Menudo, never directly addressed it and was usually seen at events with beautiful women on his arm.

Martin, 38, said he decided to reveal the truth after working on his memoirs helped him realize that he had to be free with himself, and not keep any more secrets.

"From the moment I wrote the first phrase I was sure the book was the tool that was going to help me free myself from things I was carrying within me for a long time. Things that were too heavy for me to keep inside," he said. "Writing this account of my life, I got very close to my truth. And this is something worth celebrating."

Martin said one of the reasons why he kept his homosexuality hidden was because he was told by some that it would hurt his career. While his U.S. career peaked after the release of his 1999 self-titled English album, a multiplatinum success that included the hits "Livin' La Vida Loca" and "Shake Your Bon-Bon," he is still a hugely successful Latin artist.

"Because all this advice came from people who I love dearly, I decided to move on with my life not sharing with the world my entire truth," he said in his statement. "Allowing myself to be seduced by fear and insecurity became a self-fulfilling prophecy of sabotage. Today I take full responsibility for my decisions and my actions."

Martin, who is the father of two boys born via surrogate in 2008, said he couldn't continue to hide his sexuality now that he is a father: "Enough is enough. This has to change."

Martin's book is still a work in progress.

Sulu is a married man!

At last, Mr. Sulu has married!

Former Star Trek actor George Takei has married his long-term partner in a Buddhist ceremony in Los Angeles.

Takei, 71, who played Mr Sulu in the sci-fi series, married business manager Brad Altman, 54, in front of a number of his Star Trek co-stars.

They included best man Walter Koenig, who played Chekhov, and matron-of-honour Nichelle Nichols - Uhura.

The wedding - at Japanese American National Museum - came after California lifted a ban on same-sex marriage.

The couple, who have been together for 21 years, wore matching white tuxedos in the ceremony.

Takei, who recently appeared in US TV show Heroes, said in his vows that Altman was "an organised, detailed-obsessed, punctuality-driven control freak".

"I'm easygoing so we're a good fit," he added.

Speaking before the ceremony, Takei said: "We have a relationship that's been stronger and longer-lived than some of our straight friends and yet we were not equal.

"What this does is give us that dignity."

The couple were among the first Californian couples to receive a wedding licence when the state lifted its same-sex marriage ban on 17 June.

Jorge De Carstro Font - Another crook that will bite the dust!

The FBI creates mixed feelings in me. One is of revulsion and hate at their heavy hand in the case of Filiberto Ojeda Rios, killed three years ago in a raid. But sometimes, when they hit the real crooks, politicians, I always smile. It reminds me that there is justice after all!

Jorge De Castro Font, senator of the New Progressive Party is such a guy. This jerk'o has been an outspoken critic of everything. Aligning himself with the recalcitrant, extreme religious right, he has come out against gay and straight sentimental unions, advocating the now dead "proposition 99", that would have outlawed such unions and put marriage between a man and a woman as a constitutional right.

He also aligned himself with the rich and powerful, taking their side on the Paseo Caribe controversy, even going as far as getting there in person to assault them verbally.

Well, this 'nice' guy is being investigated by the FBI for a money laundering scheme, he had his house, a gas station he allegedly owns and his senate office raided by agents. His "Fuhrer" in the NPP, Luis Fortuño has asked for him to step down from the party. He said no! Perfect Jerk!

I can't wait to see him in handcuffs!
