Egg thrower to face charges, might get eight years in jail for stunt!

Roberto García Díaz was so frustrated and ashamed that he had voted for a governor that has fired more than 25,000 public employees, that he expressed it by throwing an egg at the governor. The unemployed father of five was promptly arrested, accused and released after posting bail.

If convicted, he faces up to eight years, yup, you read right, eight years in jail. Just for throwing an egg against a colonial governor. And a failed one at that!

The guy that threw his shoes against President Bush only served 6 months! He's free already! And he attempted against the President of the United States!

If he gets to go into a courthouse with 12 jurors and some of those jurors are pissed at Fortuño, the guy will walk.

I don't condone what he did, but eight years is a tad exaggerated!

I see embezzlers and child murderers get lighter sentences than that!

This island is going nuts!

Fortuño gets egg in his face!

Somebody in Fajardo was so pissed at Governor Fortuño that he threw an egg at him at a conference about the new ship terminal to Vieques and Culebra.

The person was protesting about the round of lay-offs that began last Friday.

Here's the video from Noticentro (In Spanish)

Lucky the guy did not throw a shoe...or a live grenade!

And this is a message for everybody that voted for Fortuño.

SUCKERS!!!!!

And what does Hitler think about the layoffs?

Enjoy!

Friday...It's the second annual Get Fired Day!!!

Yes! Our bright governor, Luis Fortuño, is gearing up for a second round of firings of public employees. Probably between 10 to 20 thousand (that's right, thousands!)of employees will be fired today! The economist advising Mr. Fortuño think that by massive lay-offs, the economy will improve. Huh? What kind of logic is that? More unemployed means more houses being foreclosed, more morosity and late payments, more defaults, more crime.

Yet, goverment contracts to so called advisors keep getting fatter. Is expected that 2 Billion dollars would have been spent in these contracts by the end of the fiscal year. (Check Primerahora.com for more details!)

But are the contracts being annulled?

NO

But hard working Men and Women are getting laid off.

This is WRONG!

This is no goverment, this is a DICTATORSHIP!!!!

From now on, this blog will refer to Fortuño as Herr Luis Fortuño, overseer of the slave colony of Puerto Pobre (We are not Rich anymore!). But not as Fuhrer (Leader)

He's no leader!

He is an Asshole!!!!

So say we ALL!

The destruction of Democracy in Puerto Rico.

The plutocracy that is the government of Luis Fortuño has destroyed all the institutions that protects and helps the people of PR. Today the turn to be dismantled and given to the rich and powerful to dispose of is WIPR, the governments own network.
Dozens of employees were fired as of Friday. Some of them were from the news department.

Here Gloria Soltero, fired from her job after 15 years as anchor, voices the opinion of the staff that was let go.
This went live on the 6 O'Clock news last Friday.

Hey...It's Friday! have you received your pink slip yet?

For people who follow this blog in Puerto Rico, they know what I'm talking about. For those who don't, a little recap is in order.

In the 2008 campaign for Colonial overseer...I mean, Governor of PR., Luis Fortuño promised that if elected, only one man would have lost his job in PR's horrible economic climate, that of former Gov. Anibal Acevedo Vila. After winning the elections and becoming Governor, Fortuño, following the advice of the real power here, the rich, decided that the most easy place to balance the over-bloated budget was to fire up to 30,000 public employees. The first 10,000 will get their walking papers today, begining what probabaly will be a further unstabilizing of the unraveling fabric of our society, already frayed by drug violence, apathy and high unemployment.

Meanwhile, the contracts for lobbyists, advisors, lawyers and representatives, not only do they continue but got even higher and fatter. Some goverment executives even got higher bonuses and salaries, while those fired have to invent something, in this bleak future our "leaders" have dreamed for us, a future in which the privileged ride on the back of the poor and downtrodden, feeding them scraps while we work for them as slaves.

And what are the people planinning to do? What are you planning to do? And me? I will continue to spread the word and spreak out against these and other abuses. I will protest and I will shout from the top of my lungs until my voice is hoarse. I hope the tolerance level of the people here in PR is reaching it's limit. Silence, in this and other matters is tartamount to complicity. Speak out, or else, it will be too late!

Protest now! If you wait until later, you probably won't have the liberty to do so.

Little heavy and serious tone for a Friday. Yes, I know. But this is serious. Levity will have to wait for a while.

Max out!

Governor Furtuño uses a citizen as an example of sacrifice in this economic climate...who happens to be a convicted and registered sex offender!

Luis Fortuño has not started well his administration.

While in the midst of a recession in the States, President Obama's star continues to rise, due to his swift action in the economic front, here Governor Fortuño continues to stumble and fall. First because of his group of advisers in the economic front told him to raise taxes to the poor, now because of this.

Yesterday in a taped message to the people of Puerto Rico, Fortuño outlined his strategy to get the island out of the economic funk we are in. In between the bad news of more sin taxes and massive goverment layoffs (As much as 30,000 jobs, by some estimates), the Governor cited the example of one Agustin Torres Castellar, that sent a letter to the secretary of the local revenue service with a ten dollar bill, saying that if every working class citizen gave ten dollars a month, we could be out of this crisis fast. The Governor lauded this citizen, saying that his example should be "An inspiration to us all. Something to emulate".

What he didn't know was that Agustin is a convicted child molester, this stemming from a 1999 kidnapping case in which he took a 12 year old girl from the school he was working in as a teacher and fled with her to Texas, where he was arrested by the FBI and extradited to PR. He was given a two year sentence after he plead guity to the statuory rape charge. He was released in 2001 and he is now a registered sex offender with the local police and FBI.

Public relations misfire for the Governor, comedy gold for people like me!

Yup. Agustin is an inspiration to us all. But remember, please emulate the ten dollar thing, not the 12 year old girl example.

Enjoy! There's only 1383 days left until the next elections!
