Beware of the Blob!

We didn't notice at first, but it almost flew under our radar. Recently, the folks in Phoenixville, Pa. celebrated the 50th. anniversary of the release of the movie cult classic "The Blob". You may ask; why this people are celebrating this? Because part of the movie, specially the part where the patrons of a movie theater flee for their lives after the famous "blob" attacks them, was filmed in this town. This time, people of the town re-enacted the scene, and some who were extras in the movie, talked about their experiences filming the movie in 1958.
The movie spun a hit novelty record and starred a then almost unknown Steve McQueen, who later became one of the most successful action stars in the 60's and 70's, with films like "The Great Escape", "Bullit", "The Thomas Crown Affair", "The Towering Inferno" and "Tom Horn"
Enjoy the photos courtesy of AP. You may notice that some of the people celebrating actually resemble the infamous "blob". We kid because we love!
